Applies to: primedocs Basic, primedocs Pro

primedocs is designed to function in a multilingual environment, and there are various ways you can switch language. We need to differentiate between swicthing the language of primedocs - i.e. of the primdocs ribbons, menus etc. - and changing the language of the documents you produce using primedocs. So let’s look at these two cases separately.

Changing the language of the primedocs interface

primedocs Basic:

In primedocs Basic, you can change the language of the web interface by clicking on User Settings in the menu right beside your name:

Here you can change the display language to any of the languages your organisation has chosen to provide:

Don’t forget to press “Save”. Done.

primedocs Pro - App

Click on “File” and then “Options”. You can change the language of the primedocs app right here:

This will also change the ribbon language of the primedocs Add-Ins in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

Changing the language of the documents you create

primedocs Basic

You can change the default document language in the user settings - in the primedocs Basic screenshot above, just below where you change the interface language. But when you create a document, you can always decide to create this document in a different language.

Once you click on a template file, the data window pops up where you can enter all the information and document contents. Right at the top of the list is the choice of language. The default language you have set (see above) will be pre-selected, but you can change it at any time.

Fill in the rest of the information you need, and then press “Create”. When you open the downloaded document, it will be in the language you selected.

primedocs Pro

In primedocs Pro, you can change the language of a document as you are creating it and you can change the language of an existing primedocs document using the Add-In, even for an existing document. This will not translate the document contents, but it will translate elements which are oart of tghe template file such as date formats, checkbox labels, etc.

Here is where you can seelct the dcument language as you create the document in the primdocs App:

Just pick your language (and profile, of necessary), and then double click on the template. The new document will now open in Word in the selected language.

Once you are in Word, you can change the document language as indicated below. This will change the spellcheck language and any fixed elements (such as “Your contact”, “Phone”, the date format, etc. in the example below).
