primedocs is designed to be multilingual. There are various ways to change the language. We differentiate between changing the interface language, i.e. the language of primedocs Desktop or Web itself; the primedocs ribbons in the Office applications, the buttons and menus etc. - and the document language, the language in which a document will be generated using primedocs.

This article deals with the document language. Alternatively: https://primesoft-group.atlassian.net/wiki/x/AQC8EQ

What will happen when changing the document language?

Changing the document language will adjust the language of the spell checker, date formats, the content of dynamic elements and, depending on the design of the template, the language of the document content in the respective Office application.

In general, both primedocs Web and primedocs Desktop offer the option of setting the document language by default or setting it when generating a document. It is therefore best to set the default document language that you generally use or will use most frequently in the near future.

primedocs Web

In primedocs Web, you can set the document language by default in the user settings and customize it in the form when generating a document.

Changing the default document language in the user settings

In primedocs Web, you can change the default document language by clicking (1) on the profile picture at the top right of your name and then on (2) User settings:

In the user settings, select the default document language under Change default language for document generation:

The document language set in the user settings is preselected during document generation if it is available in the corresponding template.

Change document language when generating documents

If you have selected a template and access the form, you can select the desired document language under Selected language. Only document languages that the template allows are available for selection. By default, the document language set in the user settings is preselected.

Fill in the remaining fields of the form and generate the document by clicking on the Create button. The created document will now be in the selected document language.

On devices on which primedocs Desktop is not installed, the document language cannot be subsequently changed in a document generated with primedocs Web.

primedocs Desktop

In primedocs Desktop, you can set the default document language in the client on the one hand and subsequently change it in an open document in the respective Office application on the other.

Changing the default document language in the client

In the primedocs client, you set the default document language in the “View” group in the Document language dropdown:

Changing the document language in an open document

Alternatively, you can also change the document language in a generated document in the respective Office application. Only document languages that the template allows are available for selection.

All documents are created in the document language set in the client if the language is available in the corresponding template.
