Start primedocs for the first time
As soon as primedocs is installed and the application is started for the first time, the setup wizard appears. Click Next here.
In principle, you should already be assigned to an organizational unit. If this is not the case, you can view the organisational units released for you here in the next step.
Select your organizational unit and click on Done.
If no organizational unit is displayed, please contact your company's IT support. They can carry out the corresponding authorisation.
Select the Organization tab. You will find your user data in the Users category in the area on the left. Check all personal details here and complete them if necessary. Confirm the check of your data with Everything ok in the yellow info bar.
If you see incorrect data in the user area, contact your internal IT support to have the data corrected in the source system that synchronizes your data to the primedocs client (usually the Active Directory). You cannot overwrite data in the user area because the data fields with the link symbol are synchronized with the Active Directory every 24 hours and any overwriting is deleted again.
If you would like to change your profile data, read more about your profiles here: https://primesoft-group.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PD/pages/12025866/primedocs+app+-+Organization+tab#Default-profile
The primedocs app contains two main parts
...
Let’s start by looking at the “Templates” tab.
...
: the tab Templates and Organization.
Templates tab
In the Templates tab, you will find all
...
templates
...
for all
...
Office applications
...
Down the left side of the window, you have a list of categories. It might help to think of these categories as folders which contain tdocument templates. You cannot cerate your own categories here, because these categories are visible to your entire organisation. Depending on your access rights, you will only see those categiries which contain templates which you can access and use. There may be other categories intended only for specific teams which you cannot see here.
Click on a category, and the templates in that category will appear in the cetral column of this window, along with a preview of the document on the right.
To open a new document based upon one of the templates you see in the list, either double-click on it, or mark it and then press the “New Document” button in the ribbon. Depending on the document, you may be asked to fill in some information, press okay - and then your document will open. And once your document is open, you can edit the document using the primedocs ribbon.
The second part of the primedocs app is the “Organization” tab:
...
On this tab, you will want to switch to the “Profiles” section (highlighted in screenshot above). Here you will see and be able to manage your profile data.
Your profile is divided into two parts: Your personal data (on the “User” tab) and the data which describes your organisaional unit (on the “Organization Unit” tab). You can rename the profile as you wish in the field “Name*” at the top of the main window. If you make any changes, remember to save before leaving this window.
The very first time you start using primedocs, you will need to go to this “Organization” tab, click on “Profiles” and check that your “User” and your “Organizational Unit” tabs are filled in correctly. You may also need to click on the “Select organization unit” button in the ribbon to choose the correct organisational unit. Once this is done, you can confirm “OK” in the yellow bar which ask you to check and confirm if everything is correct here. This is a one-time only thing you need to do.
Now you can edit your personal profile, but be aware that the data here is drawn from the Active Directory (AD) every night - so there are some fields that if you edit, they will be overwritten every night. These fields are primarily on the Organizational Unit tab, however. But even if you find an error, say, with your name, then we recommend not correcting it here, but contacting your ornganisation’s Service Desk or Helpdesk to have the infoirmation corrected right at the source - the AD. Why? Because the AD is an important data source for other applications, too. And not just for primedocs. So it makes sense to correct any errors in the AD, so that it is correct everywhere.
Beyond the two tabs mentioned above, you will also see the “primedocs” tab, which allows you to change the language of primedocs, change the interface colour and to change the primdocs instance (e.g. switch from the TEST to the PROD environments, if you have the rights or the need to do so).
...
that have been implemented for your company.
Templates area
The templates are sorted by group in the area on the left. When you select a template group, you get an overview of the individual templates that are stored for you in this group.
You will only see the template groups that contain templates that have been shared with you.
Preview
When you click on a template, the preview for a document generated from this template opens to the right of the template list.

Organization tab
The Organization tab is the area where you manage your profiles.
Area Profiles
Click on the Profiles area, where your profile data is located. Your profile is divided into two sections in the middle: Your personal data (User tab) and the data that comes from your organizational unit (Organizational units tab). You can rename your profile as you wish in the "Name" field at the top.
After you have made changes to your profile, don't forget to save your changes before leaving the tab by pressing the Save button or the Ctrl+S key combination.

primedocs tab
In addition to the two tabs mentioned above, there is also the "primedocs" tab. Here primedocs offers you even more options.
Account menu
Under User information you can see whether you are connected to the primedocs server.
Under Change data source, you can change the primedocs instance (e.g. from the test database to the prod database) and reset the data source. The latter means that temporary data (the cache) is deleted and all data is retrieved from the database again. This is usually only carried out by the PowerUser in your organization or by PrimeSoft Support.
Options menu
Here you have the option of personalizing your primedocs client in terms of interface color and display language (if available):
Select skin: Select a color theme.
Start automatically: Indicates whether primedocs is started automatically when your device is started. If you have any questions, please contact your support team.
Hardware acceleration: The primedocs client uses the hardware acceleration of Windows and its graphics driver. If there are any display problems, please contact your support team.
Languages: Change the interface language of primedocs here. The available languages vary depending on the customer solution.
Help menu
Here your organization’s primedocs administrator or PrimeSoft Support can view useful information. You will also find
primedocs user manual: the button opens your browser and leads to this primedocs user manual.
Send report: this button is used to package log and diagnostic data and, if configured, can then be sent to your organization's administrator or to us directly.
primedocs log files: the log directory contains all log files and is usually only opened by your organization’s administrator or PrimeSoft Support in the event of application errors.
