Permissions and administration view

Authorization for Template administrators

Before you can start creating or editing templates, you need the appropriate permissions.

To do this, contact your primedocs administrator so that they can set the authorization in the Admin Dashboard.

You can find more information about our authorization concept here: Authorization

Administration view

As soon as you are a template administrator and have synchronized your primedocs client, you will see the Administration view button in the primedocs client.

Click on it. This will do two things:

  • (1) Additionally to the released templates, all templates are displayed,

    • to which the primedocs your company’s administrator has given you Change rights and

    • which have not been released, i.e. have the state In progress or In test.

  • (2) The Administration group is displayed in the tool bar.

Hidden templates

Templates that you can only see now because you are in the administration view are marked with an eye symbol. Consequently, these are templates that are hidden when you switch off the administration view and use the client as a user again.

If you hover over the eye symbol, you will find out why this template is no longer displayed outside the administration view. This will be due to at least one of the following reasons:

  • The template has the template state In progress or In test.

  • The template has the status Released, but you are not authorized for the template as a user.

  • The template is not authorized for the organizational unit your current profile is assigned to.

  • The template is not available in the selected document language.

  • The template is never visible to users due to its template type (e.g. layout or style templates).

Template groups are completely hidden if a user is not authorized for any of the templates they contain.
